The following measures apply on Bonaire to ensure that the corona virus does not spread.

Keeping your distance from and observing hygiene measures in the public space is included in the emergency ordinance.

Prevent COVID-19


Keep your distance

Keep at least 1.5m away from others. Even when you greet someone. By not touching each other, the virus is less likely to spread.


Avoid crowds

Avoid forming large groups with other people, as the virus can spread quickly in groups.


Washing hands

Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

Do not touch

Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth. These are places where you can easily become infected.



Cover your mouth and nose with the inside of your elbow or a handkerchief when you sneeze or cough.



Stay at home and call 0800-0800 (toll-free)

Employer's Declaration Curfew

During the curfew you are not allowed to leave the house from 9:00 PM to 4:00 AM. You may only leave the house:

  • In case of an emergency.
  • You can show a completed Employer’s Declaration Curfew form, which proves you practice an essential profession.
  • You, a person in need of help or an animal needs urgent (medical) help.
  • You walk a dog on a leash, you do this on your own.
